Know Where Every Number Came From

Learn to trace important project inputs back to their source instead of accepting numbers without knowing what they represent.

Keep the Evidence Attached

Understand why every important input should keep its unit, source, date or version, evidence label, and owner as it moves through the project.

Know What Happens When an Input Changes

See how changes to windows, insulation, occupancy, equipment, or other project conditions can affect calculations and decisions that used the original information.

About Stick Thirty-Seven — The Input List

A building project produces a lot of numbers. Stick Thirty-Seven focuses on bringing those important inputs together without changing what they actually are. Every number came from somewhere, belongs to someone, and carries evidence behind it.  You’ll learn how to recognize whether an input is OBSERVED, MEASURED, CALCULATED, ASSUMED, PROPOSED, or UNKNOWN, and why those labels should stay attached when information moves into calculations and worksheets.   The goal is to ask five questions: Where did this number come from? Who owns it? What kind of number is it? Who checked it? And what happens if it changes?

Make Every Important Number Traceable

A calculation is only as useful as the information behind it. Start Stick Thirty-Seven and learn how to trace important inputs, identify who owns them, and make sure the paperwork still describes the building being built.
