See the Whole Building
Understand why a great wall, window, heat pump, ventilation system, or other individual component does not automatically create a great building.
Understand System Interactions
Learn how changing one system can affect the conditions that other systems depend on, sometimes creating problems somewhere else.
Ask What Else This Touches
Learn to look beyond one decision or trade and ask what else may change when equipment, systems, occupancy, or the way the building is used changes.
About Stick Twenty-Six — The Concert
A modern building is made up of many systems, specialties, trades, and decisions. Each part may work correctly on its own and still interact poorly with something else. Stick Twenty-Six introduces The Concert — the whole building operating as one system after the individual pieces have been designed, installed, started, tested, and adjusted. You’ll learn how systems can affect each other and why changes in occupancy or use can also change what the building is being asked to do, even when no construction takes place. The goal is to stop looking only at individual parts and start asking a simple but important question: What else does this touch?
